2nd MARE FORUM POLAND 2nd   MARE   FORUM   POLAND   took   place   in   Hotel   Sheraton   in   Sopot on   May   16th,   2017.   One   of   the   most   important   conferences   in   the shipping   world   was   attended   by   representatives   of   both   Polish   and foreign shipping industry, Discussion was divided into panels, as follows:   1) Where is the Global Shipping Industry Heading? 2)   The   Polish   Differentiation   Story.   What   can   the   Polish   Maritime Industry   do   for   the   international   shipping.   Meet   the   Polish   Maritime Industry.        Polish   Ship   Managers’   Association   also   took   part   in   this   event   as   a sponsor,   with   President   of   the   Management   Board   –   Irek   Kuligowski [Green    Management]    being    the    Guest    Speaker    together    with Dariusz Jellonnek  (V Ships) and Secretary - Radoslaw Stefaniak. Irek   Kuligowski   [“ Ships   without   Engineers   on   Board,   or   going   back   to the   beginnings ”]   introduced   the   audience   to   the   prospect   how   the advent   of   the   smart   ship   will   potentially   transform   the   maritime   labour market   -   especially   with   regards   to   position   of   maritime   engineers, already    in    short    supply.    He    especially    pointed    to    the    trials    of experimental vessels conducted by DNV GL and Rolls Royce. Darek   Jellonnek   spoke   about   the   situation   in   the   European   Maritime Labour   Market   -   especially   pointing   out   to   decreasing   number   of officers   and   crew   from   Europe   and   strong   competition   with   seafarers from the former USSR and Far East.  [NEXT PAGE]
