IX Information & Promotion Meeting took   place   on   October   11 th ,   2018. The   main   goal   of   the   meeting (“Dynamic   Relationship   Between   Shipowner   and   Shipmanager –    Polish    &International    Perspective”)    was    to    comparatively discuss   differences   between   Polish   and   foreign   perspective   to ever    changing    relationship    between    shipowner    and    ship manager. First   speech   of   the   evening   was   conducted   by   Mr   Ireneusz Kuligowski    (President,    PSMA)    and    Cpt    Tadeusz    Hatalski (Member   of   the   Presidential   National   Development   Council) who   presented   the   main   goals   &   tenets   of   the   project   of   the draft   law   amending   selected   laws   facilitating   registration   under the Polish flag. Furthermore,   the   aforementioned   project   was   presented   in   the film    “Restore    Polish    Flag”    (“Przywrócić    Polską    Banderę”) presented   by   the   3 rd    Channel   of   Polish   Television   (TVP3)   as well     as     “Maritime     Portal”     (Portal     Morski)     and     “Maritime Economy” [please click here to watch] .   Right    after    that,    Kuba    Szymanski    (Secretary    General,    Inter Manager)   highlighted   the   basic   differences   in   views   towards role   of   ship   manager   and   shipowner   in   Poland   &   abroad.   The main   problem   in   Poland   is   that   the   view   is   mainly   shipowner- centric,   whereas   abroad   the   center   of   focus   shifted   towards ship   manager’s   capabilities   and   consolidation   of   major   players in this field. Furthermore,    experience    with    multi-lingual    and    multicultural crews   prove   that   Polish   officers   and   crews   keep   steadily   their position   in   the   maritime   labour   market,   however   their   standing is   under   increasing   pressure   from   seafarers   from   former   Soviet republics and Asia. Next,   new   Supporting   Members   of   PSMA   –   Zbigniew   Foltyński &     Radosław     Marciniak     (STBU     Insurance     Brokers     Ltd.) presented     their     new     solutions     in     the     field     of     maritime insurance.   Last,   but   not   least   Wojciech   Legieć   from   Exerters Training Center has shown new ECDIS training techniques.
